The Integrity App was my first dive into mobile app development. The purpose of this app was to provide the user with information about Integrity windows via brochures, case studies, presentations, photo galleries, catalogs, videos and a blog feed from their site. On version 2.0 we added a dealer locator and a widow shopper portion that allowed the user to add integrity windows to any photo they took. This was a great visual tool for people that had a space that needed a new window.
I love designing for mobile because you have to change your thinking from mouse and keyboard techniques to finger taps and swiping. Even though there are currently thousands of apps on the marketplace, it's still a relatively new field for creation. Developing how users will interact with the content as well as creating a road map for the best user experience is the real trick.
The market share of mobile interaction with the web is growing larger every year. Creating a mobile app is a great expansion of user interface skills that can be mirrored back to web designs that now need to be mobile ready.
