HouseSmarts is a 30-minute home improvement program hosted by Lou Manfredini that is nationally syndicated on NBC. I have been working on the website, web alerts and e-newsletters for the last three years at the FORT Group.
This web design is new to 2013. The idea was to improve advertisement and brand awareness as well as getting away from flash video and start streaming from the YouTube channel. I also looked to give each segment it's own page for sharing across social media platforms. Another challenge was developing the CMS to grow as the program does on a weekly basis while keeping it easily maintainable and making updates effortless. Little gadgets, like the cool tool finder, latest promos and related video feeds are other items designed to keep the user engaged.
The newsletter and NBC appearance alerts are ways we keep in touch with the fans of Lou Manfredini and HouseSmarts. Delivering the latest blog post from Lou as well as "Ask Lou" questions and hand picked video selections are just some of the efforts employed in keeping fans of the show engaged.
